Students are moved to the Archived Students area when they no longer belong to any classes. You can restore archived students at any time, either returning them to a class they previously belonged to or adding them to a new class.
When a student is archived their details will be kept for one year and then automatically deleted. The columns in the Archived students table indicate when the student was added to the Archive and how many days they will remain there before deletion. Deletion is permanent.
What data is restored depends on whether the student has been part of the selected class before.
When students are archived
A student will only appear in the Archived Students area if:
- They do not belong to any classes
If a student is still enrolled in at least one class, they will remain active and will not be archived.
How to restore a student
- Go to Admin within the main menu.
- Select Students.
- Open Archived Students.
- Find the student you want to restore.
- Select Restore student.
- Choose the class(es) you want to add the student to.
- Confirm the action.
The student is restored immediately.
What happens when a student is restored
What happens next depends on the student’s history with the class you restore them to.
If the student previously belonged to the class
When a student is restored to a class they were previously enrolled in:
- ✅ All allocations for that class are restored
- ✅ All results and progress data are restored
- ✅ The student reappears in class lists, reports, and analytics
- ✅ Teachers can continue working from where the student left off
No data is lost while a student is archived.
If the student did not previously belong to the class
If a student is restored to a class they have never been part of:
- ✅ The student is added to the class
- ❌ No allocations are restored
- ✅ Results or progress data are restored
